The Process: How to do it...
The Screen Test
Annually in the Spring or Summer, the
IMF (International Music Festival) launches with shows and events in approximately 70 major North American markets, such as Boston, Nashville, Vancouver or San Francisco, to find North America’s greatest talent and introduce them to the rest of the world. All genres of music are welcome. After all, talent is talent.
The City Performances
Depending on market size, 8 to 12 pre-selected musicians will perform over one, two, or three night live engagements. Judging will be based on several criteria: a panel of judges determining performance quality, originality, stage presence and crowd voting.
The Regional Face-Offs
Once IMF judges and crowds have selected approximately 70 market winners, these victors will have their profiles, music, performance details and even video posted on the IMF website. Previous marks by crowds and judges will still count towards your success, and this stage also takes into account the online votes you receive by fans (and potential fans) around the world. Even if you don’t wind up the Grand Prize winner, this is still your chance to connect with an international audience of thousands!
The Final Showdown
When judging and voting ends for approximately 70 market winners, only SIX Regional Finalists will remain. The IMF FINALS will then reduce the field to just one act. However, runner-up and even non-finalists will find themselves with international show offers from Anthem and eligible for Best of the IMF accolades. In addition, all six finalists will receive a complimentary EP recording at a studio within their region of participation.
And Then There Was ONE
Out of hundreds of talented participants, one act will launch their international music career with the help of IMF and its wealth of resources. The IMF winner will receive an all-expense paid international tour.
