The Final Tour Stop
The IMF starts annually each Spring or Summer with over 150 events and runs through the Summer, Fall and Winter and concludes approximately a year after it began. The IMF Champion is then selected to embark on a life and career changing tour. In September and October 2009, Nights and Weekends from Toronto, Canada traveled through Boston, MA, Amsterdam and Africa picking up performances and fans along the way.
The final stop on the IMF is South Africa. Nights and Weekends enjoyed:
- One send off concert in Boston, MA
- Two performances at the world-renown Wadda Bar
- One University of Cape Town outdoor show
- Radio and print interviews
- On-air performance sessions
- Two charity concerts with the IMF partner charity: CHOSA
- Multiple video sessions that captures the true essence of music
- Feedback sessions with industry professionals on international self promotion and marketing
The 2012 festivals will include five additional international performances, including two outdoor festivals and an enhanced International Music Festival finale.
On a personal level the group was able to go on safari, mountain climb, swim in the Indian Ocean, visit with the township children that the IMF supports, and experience the cultures of Amsterdam, Africa and more.
